1 to 1 Australian Migration

To be eligible for this visa you must have a successful business career and a genuine desire to continuously own and manage an innovative business in Australia. Key requirements of this stream include:

• Nomination by a State or Territory Government
• Minimum net assets of $1,250,000
• Owned a business with $750,000 annual turnover
• Obtain 65 points on business innovation and investment points test
• Under 55 years old (unless waived by nominator)
• Have functional English (or pay 2^nd VAC)
• Meet health and character requirement
• Not have a previous visa refusal or cancellation

This visa is granted for a period of 5 years with multiple entries. Post July 2021 changes you can apply for the permanent BIIP 188 visa after 3 years if certain requirements are met.  If you need extra time to be eligible for the permanent pathway then this visa can be extended for a period of 2 years (via the Business Innovation Extension Stream) ie a total of 7 years, giving ample time to meet the requirements of the permanent pathway.  Post July 2021 you need to have physically resided in Australia for at least one year in the past 3 years to be eligible for permanency.

Once this visa is granted, you must comply with Australian workplace laws and have a genuine commitment to

• maintain substantial ownership interest in a business in Australia
• participate in the day-to-day management and decision-making of that business

In the business, you must do at least one of these things:

• develop business links with international markets
• employ people in Australia
• export Australian goods
• produce goods or services that would otherwise be imported
• introduce new or improved technology, or
• add to commercial activity and competitiveness within the Australian economy
